Adam Hinkle Obituary

Adam Matthew Hinkle, 47, of Spring Grove, Illinois, went home to be with his Savior on July 30, 2026. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Adam passed, sustained by his unwavering faith in Jesus and deeply loved by his family.

Born on August 7, 1978, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert and Cynthia Hinkle, he grew up alongside his sisters Nicole Rigsby and Bethany Moore. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Dana Sue, their precious children Sojourner, Mercy, Owyn, Story, Ransom, Harvest, and Revere, beloved extended family, dear friends, and a community forever changed by his life.

Adam was first and foremost a disciple of Jesus. His confidence in God’s goodness shaped every aspect of how he lived, loved, worked, and served. Even in the face of suffering, he remained convinced that God’s faithfulness never wavered, finding hope in the promise of eternity. Adam was a devoted husband who adored his beloved wife, Dana Sue. Together they built their marriage on faith, devotion, joy, laughter, and steadfast love. Whether setting off on an adventure or dancing in the kitchen, they embraced life as a gift from God, delighting in each other as they walked through life as one. He was a tender father who delighted in raising his seven children to love God, think creatively, serve others, and work hard.

Adam was an entrepreneur, inventor, and business leader by vocation, but at heart he was a builder. Whether designing sets, completing construction projects, building tree forts, discipling students, encouraging other men in Christ, or strengthening the local church, Adam saw things not merely as they were but for what they could become, and he dedicated himself to making that vision a reality. This remarkable gift was on full display throughout his life, whether he was serving guests at Lost Valley Ranch, remodeling historic buildings at Summit Ministries, or creating new, original products at CreativeQT. Above all else, Adam desired that his life would point others to Jesus.

A memorial service to celebrate Adam’s life and praise God for the time we had with him will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Richardson Adventure Farm, 909 English Prairie Road, Spring Grove, IL. Doors will open at 12:15pm. Following the service, all are invited to remain for refreshments and a time to share stories of Adam and the impact he had in this life.

Though we grieve his absence from this world, we rejoice in knowing he is with Jesus and has heard his Heavenly Father say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
